The Lexar NM710 1TB PCIe Looks To Rule PCIe Gen4 SSDs

DRAM Free 3D TLC

The Lexar NM710 M.2 2280 drive is a Gen4x4 NVMe SSD based on the NVMe 1.4 protocol which skips a DRAM cache to keep the price nicely under $0.10/GB.  The 500GB model is rated at 500MB/s sequential read and a sequential writes of up to 2600MB/s. with an endurance of 300TBW.  The 2TB is a more impressive 4850MB/read, 4500MB/s write with an endurance of 1200TBW; both sport a five year warranty.

The FPS Review ware able to test the 1TB version of the Lexar NM710 and found it to be the best drive they’ve run the PCMark 10 Full System Drive benchmark on.  While it did well in some tests it was outpaced by the competition in others, but overall it’s performance makes it about the best drive of it’s type.  The Maxio MAP1602 controller has really breathed new life into DRAMless SSDs, and the Lexar NM710 deserves your attention if you are shopping for an inexpensive game drive.

If you need the fastest possible Gen4 x4 NVMe SSD performance, check out that SSD. That SSD is Lexar’s fastest SSD offering and also offers a pre-installed heatsink. If you move down Lexar’s SSD product line, you will find a new value-conscious SSD with the Lexar NM710 M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4x4 NVMe SSD (LNM710X001T-RNNNG).
