Vivaldi has been around since 2015, but many have never heard of the alternative web browser. The browser is built on Chromium 69 but the interface offers far more than others; stacked tabs, dual tab view, control suggestions and even enough keyboard control you don't need to use a mouse. It is also able to synchronize your bookmarks, preferences, history and even passwords across systems, though as Ars Technica warns, you should ensure you have created a Vivaldi password so that they can encrypt all of that data.

"Roughly a year and a half later, Vivaldi has recently hit the 2.0 milestone. You can download the latest version from the Vivaldi site or install it through the app store or package manager of your OS. And at first blush, perhaps the most shocking thing about this release is that it's merely 2.0."

I’ve been using it for a few
I’ve been using it for a few years, since Opera started rebinding itself as being trendy, and given up hope that it would ever reach the same level of utility as Opera 12.
Vivaldi filled the void. It too has a lot of work left until it gets to be as cool as Opera 12 was, but the developers are actively trying to get there.
It’s been swell so far. Well, there’s the odd bug in the testing versions, but they come with the territory.
I really recommend it to anyone looking for that old Opera 12 experience.
Have to say Vivaldi won me
Have to say Vivaldi won me over about a year ago. Much better ui than chrome
Vivaldi is pretty much the
Vivaldi is pretty much the only route for old Opera users (me from version 3). No other browser can do that. FF can imitate to an extent with metric ton of plug-ins, but its just an imitation. Viavldi came a long way since beta stage. Now it has basically all the functionality of old Opera (which is still best browser ever created in my mind, sadly with HTML5 introduction Big Red O is basically obsolete).
