Enclosing the top of a PSU in see through acrylic makes the Apevia ATX-IB 680W PSU very unique.   Don’t worry about the choice of materials, it does conform to “ATX12V v2.2 spec. Stating that in the event of a catastrophic failure the unit must protect from Flame, Charred PCB, emission of molten material, and others“.  MODTHEBOX puts it to the test, to find out if it is as stable as it is attractive.
“The unit itself is very attractive with black anodized aluminum that make up the bulk of the chassis. An injection molded piece of clear acrylic caps the bottom of the power supply. Depending on which color you choose, the power plug, power switch, and sleeved cables could be red, green or blue. Inside we see a pair of green anodized heat syncs, a red PC board, a blue highlighted transformer, yellow primary stage capacitors and the rest of the support electronics.”
