CORSAIR Announces the Force Series MP600 PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD

An NVMe Drive Nearly 10x Faster than SATA SSDs

CORSAIR has embraced the PCI Express 4.0 standard (and AMD’s X570 platform) with their latest NVMe SSD, the Force Series MP600. This new PCIe Gen4 x4 interface drive will use Phison’s PS5016-E16 controller paired with 3D TLC NAND, and quoted sequential numbers are impressive: reads speeds up to 4950 MB/s and writes up to 4250 MB/s.

These transfer speeds are significantly ahead of Phison’s original PCI Express 4.0 SSD demonstration using this controller back at CES, though we have a little way to go before a Gen4 x4 interface is fully saturated. Beyond the controller few details were provided (available capacities, specifics about NAND, write endurance, etc.), though we do know it will carry a 5-year warranty. And, like so many Computex announcements, this one did not include pricing. We have a while to ponder the details as the Force Series MP600 is not launching until July.
