Looks like a small mistake in the announcement. It says June 19th in the title intro but in the explanation the announcement shows June 12th.

[QUESTION for Antal Tungler]
[QUESTION for Antal Tungler] More than one year later why just 3 FreeSync 2 monitors (all from the same manufacture) on the market ? …what’s wrong with FreeSync 2 ?
FreeSync 2 has a feature set
FreeSync 2 has a feature set that’s going to take mor time to implement than FreeSync just go read(1) this article from Techspot ant that’s some feature set that’s more difficult to implement with some highe base standards for the Display Makers.

Please ask them why the
Please ask them why the FreeSync Hz-ranges on most models are so disappointing in both low and high side compared to G-Sync.
Does that even need to be
Does that even need to be asked?
It’s AMD’s decision.
Freesync does not dictate the range.
Freesync 2 does – due to LFC requirement minimum and maximum of the range at least 2x apart (used to be 2.5x but AMD is not being very clear on this).

1) When will the technology
1) When will the technology be available for a 120Hz monitor with real HDR and 99% Rec 2020 color gamut? (1080p is fine and preferred over non 16:9)
True straight up, high hertz, awesome colors and contrast/range. No marketing misdirection like Display Stream Compression, chroma 4:4:2, dithering,… Same raw pixels from GPU displayed on display.
2) Same for TVs. The UHD blu-ray spec came out a long time ago. When is Rec 2020/2100 going to get adopted for real? Are we like 5 years away? 10 years?
This question stems from the UHD Alliance’s UltraHD Premium certification that all the major players seem to have signed up for. You have to dig in but the fine print says: “To bear the Ultra HD™ Premium logo, signal input must use BT2020 color representation with display reproduction of more than 90% of P3 colors.” …. DCI-P3 is muuuch smaler than Rec 2020… So again, marketing dishonesty like Display Stream Compression enabled resolutions.
You won’t get 99% Rec.2020
You won’t get 99% Rec.2020 from ANYTHING anytime soon (not even eye-wateringly-expensive colour timing monitors). That’s a technology barrier for now (no emissive sources suitable, no transmissive modulators with suitable transmissivity). But apart from that, the new crop of G-Sync HDR monitors will do proper FALD HDR, at 120Hz, With 4:4:4 chroma subsampling and no DSC.
Will it be us restricted or
Will it be us restricted or EU can also participate?
Q: When will FreeSync become
Q: When will FreeSync become ubiquitous – available on all except for G-Sync displays?
I would hope and assume when
I would hope and assume when all displays come with HDMI 2.1; as VRR is part of the spec. When that will happen however… Who knows.
I am curious to know why
I am curious to know why Display Port isn’t catching on more than it is. The image quality looks crisper than on the HDMI.
If Samsung’s QLED TV’s are
If Samsung’s QLED TV’s are getting a software update to enable Freesync, will other TV manufacturers be doing so for other TV sets that are sitting in consumers’ homes today? If so, when? I’d Love to see Freesync technology added as a feature via a software update, For Free, on my “old”, Vizo M65. How about it AMD? Can it be done? If so, could you please start working with more TV manufacturers to get this feature enabled on existing sets? Thanks
I have the same question(s).
I have the same question(s). These Samsung TV’s obviously had some sort of hardware in them already that could handle this. What other TV’s that are already out (for example the Vizio 2018 P Series are 120 Hz too) will be capable of getting firmware updates?
Heard that the Xbox One X
Heard that the Xbox One X will support FreeSync.
Will the Xbox One X be able to generate higher than 60 FPS?
Will the changes and this feature enable other performance gain with older HD TVs?
I haven’t had the chance to fully experience FreeSync other than the Demo Booth at conventions. From what I’ve seen, FreeSync does appear to generate smoother images compared to G-Sync.
I am not sold on HDR after trying the Xbox One X on a UHD HDR Compatible Samsung TV with HDR and 4K supporting Games.
Which Samsung TV was it? If
Which Samsung TV was it? If it isn’t one of their few FALD based models then HDR will not look as good as it should.
The XoX added FreeSync support in the May update so it’s already enabled.
What’s interesting is looking at the documentation for the Samsung TV’s that now support FreeSync they support 20Hz – 120 Hz at 1080p but when running at 4K they only support 48 Hz – 60 Hz. So you could downgrade the resolution with an XoX and definitely go past 60 FPS in some games but at 4K with current generation Samsung TVs at least you’re capped at 60 FPS (if it can hit that).
Why are there no freesync
Why are there no freesync professional monitors? What reasons could there be for not implementing freesync? I feel like this should be a major advantage of freesync over gsync for people who want picture quality over refresh rate
Ryan please ask about VRR
Ryan please ask about VRR ranges.
As it stands now, lots of Monitors have rather bad ranges, e.g. 48-90Hz and a good amount have no Low FrameRate Compensation.
Will we see more Monitors with wider ranges (like 30-144Hz, or 30-60Hz) that are capable of (LFC) in the future and will AMD enforce this with a new Spec, since FS2 is tied to HDR now.

i came in as stream was ending just had got home from some job interviews
what was needed to be eligible for the prizes?

Are there any LED projectors with freesync 2 coming? I’ve been waiting for years for a 1080p(or more) LED projector with 120+ Hz input and low input latency.
Professional simulation
Professional simulation projectors have this. Digital Projection, JVC, Sony. etc. Just don’t expect a cheap consumer price.
