More Than 2! Sabrent Rocket Pro 4TB USB 3.2 Gen2
Like A British Racing Car; Fast, Very Compact And Striped
Sabrent have updated their Rocket Pro external USB drive family with a 4TB model, which is still a tiny 105 x 45 x 14mm (4.13 x 1.77 x 0.55″) yet still robust enough that the reviewer at ServeTheHome could stand on it without deforming the case or damaging the innards. It uses a USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection, Type-C flavoured, and ships with both a Type-C cord as well as a Type-C to Type-A adapter. A quick spoiler alert before you get too excited, the 4TB model is $699 so unless you really need that storage density you might prefer the 2TB model which runs around $280.
With the speed of Sabrent’s NVMe drives, one might hope you would see performance approaching the 2424 MB/s theoretical maximum of this generation of USB. The tests generally showed reads and writes around 1000 MB/s which is still very impressive for a real world USB 3.2 Gen 2 drive.
If you need extremely compact, high speed and relatively robust portable storage then Sabrent has the USB SSD for you, and it even looks good to boot. If you can live with 2TB of space then perhaps going with the smaller model would make more sense, but that’s up to you!
The unit itself is very small measuring only 4.13″ x 1.77″ x 0.55″ or 105mm x 45mm x 14mm. It is a fairly plain gray since it is made out of an aluminum chassis. We get a Sabrent logo as well as a rocket logo with Sabrent stripes.
