We often get asked about our favorite gaming notebooks and despite the somewhat aged styling, we still think Alienware makes some of the best. Today's deal offers up the small M14x R2 with a 1600×900 screen, Core i7-3630QM quad-core processors, GeForce GT 650M discrete graphics and 16GB of DDR3 memroy. The $1308 price is a nice $300+ discount over the normal price!

Im sorry but I have the same
Im sorry but I have the same specced laptop that is an acer and I paid 730 on newegg. This is to much to pay for a “brand” name. Alienware is way overpriced.
Also it is a 17.3 inch
Also it is a 17.3 inch screen! as opposed to this paltry 14 incher. Come on!
Agreed, I just bought my wife
Agreed, I just bought my wife a really nice Asus G75 laptop with a 17″ display and similar specs. The Asus was less than the Alienware shown here as well. I looked at the Alienware’s when deciding on a laptop and I just couldn’t justify the cost difference for just the name.
Helpful information.
Helpful information. Fortunate me I found your web site accidentally,
and I’m stunned why this twist of fate didn’t happened
earlier! I bookmarked it.

alienware…LMFAO.
You can pick just about any other laptop and get same or better specs FOR LESS.
How about Lenovo Y500 with DUAL/SLI 650’s for less.
Wow, you have to be retarded to buy Alienware.
You are exactly right. I had
You are exactly right. I had 2 of my friends just buy the y500 and for the 999 model they got an i7 with 8gb of ram and the 2 GT 650ms that you mentioned! Best deal on the internet right now i’d say!
HAHA I just received my Y500,
HAHA I just received my Y500, awesome, Nobody even mentioned that you have to wait 3 weeks before you even get the stupid overpriced laptop from alienware, Bought my Y500 from amazon, next day shipping..

I still love my m11x R3. The thing’s got the physical agility of a netbook with the power of a mid-range workstation (for the year it was purchased) and a 6 hour battery life when I use it to take notes in class.
Screen size isn’t everything. Sometimes you want to get as much power as possible into as little weight as possible. That was my goal with the m11x R3, and it’s awesome at what it does. It’s also sturdier than any other laptop I’ve held, it dissipates heat nicely, the screen is bright. It’s a joy to use.
Dell’s probably not making too much of a higher margin off of these Alienware books than other companies – fewer corners are cut.
Wow. An Alienware
Wow. An Alienware apologist.
Just because you don’t want to feel stupid because you overpaid doesn’t mean you should try to justify your purchase.
You’re an idiot for buying Alienware.
Considering I’ve used Dell
Considering I’ve used Dell brand, Sony, Toshiba, Lenovo, Gateway, and laid hands on a few Asus laptops in the past, I’m confident in my assessment of my Alienware. You get what you pay for.
I’ve seen the same thing happen with GPUs. If you buy a ‘cheap’ 6870 and save $20, you’re missing on the heat sink. Similarly an off-brand laptop power brick is going to be a bit hotter than an on-brand brick.
The name brand controllers are less flaky than the off-brand third party ones, a Logitech G9x is going to handle better than a $30 knock-off, a Das keyboard is going to feel better than a Rosewill.
I actually didn’t pay a dime for my m11x and never will – it was bought for me by an organization contracted exclusively with Dell that wanted to provide me with a netbook to take notes on in class.

Do PC Per make that much
Do PC Per make that much money out of these referral links that they simply have no choice but to plaster the front page with them? All these details every day on the front page, it really cheapens the site and negates the value great hardware and opinion pieces that PC Per are known for.
It’s just My Opinion but I think it’s the right one. At the very least move them to a side column or something.
Agreed. Ryan, putting
Agreed. Ryan, putting ANYTHING Alienware on the front page is akin to spam.
Why would you associate their crap with your site?
What’s next? Gonna provide a sponsored link where we can have the privilege of spending $60 to buy a Linux distro?
Way overpriced…

Way overpriced…
For 1100$ you can get MSi GX70 3BE, its a beast for the price and features it has. Best bang for a buck!

I was shopping around for a gaming laptop last summer shortly after the 680M was released. It came down to the 17″ Alienware vs the sager 9170. Went with the sager but only because of the price difference. So far its a great rig! Im sure you get more bells and whistles with the AW – the lights are pretty bangarang – but I didn’t want to skimp on my gpu for that.
