It is sadly out of stock on both NewEgg and Amazon right now but MSI's $350 GTX 970 GAMING 4G is an incredible buy and worth waiting for. The factory overclock already set up on this card is quite nice, a Core rated at 1140/1279MHz which [H]ard|OCP actually observed hit as high as 1366MHz until they overclocked it and hit 1542MHz before the 110% GPU power limitation ended their fun. It would seem that the card is capable of more, if only you were not prevented from feeding it more than that extra 10%. The card was already beating the 780 Ti and R8 290 before the overclock but you should read the full review to see what happened once they tested it at the full speed.
"The MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G video card is making the GeForce GTX 780 and AMD Radeon R9 290 obsolete. This $349 video card puts up a fight and punches in a win at this price. The overclock alone is somewhat staggering. If you are about to spend money on a GPU, don't miss this one."

I think i bought the last MSI GTX 970,after i bought it was sold out.. I feel soo lucky!
It might be, but seems
It might be, but seems there’s currently a problem with the fans and the stickers(?) on some of the samples of that model:
https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=183618.msg1318906#msg1318906
“We discussed this internally and the fan issue (fan2 @100%) is most likely caused by the sticker.
Many fans can withstand the removal of the sticker without any damage but a small amount of fans seem to get damaged.
Our production has already stopped using these stickers.
So we recommend all users that suffer from this issue to return the card to the point of purchase for warranty service.”
Or maybe a problem with the bearing and/or fan spin-up voltage/current.
Awww was hoping this was the
Awww was hoping this was the MSI 980 review.
I got the MSI GTX 980 Gaming
I got the MSI GTX 980 Gaming 4G. I heard about the sticker and so I was very careful removing it. The glue used on that sticker was overkill. I could see how someone could damage that first fan if they were too aggressive when removing the sticker.
WHY do card manufacturers
WHY do card manufacturers take the time to make a card’s shroud very nice/ incorporate nice colors and not make a backplate with same touch? Bare PCB is lame. You install their cards and all the nice touches are facing down.
That’s why out of all the choices for a 970 I went with the only manufacturer who bothered, Gigabyte 970 with full shroud. It looks fantastic in the case and the illuminated wind force logo is a nice touch.
If MSI did this with their signature dragon logo, I bet many would buy it since for the most part, pricing and performance for most 970s is about the same.
It would cost them what!? An extra $2 if that to add a shroud with graphics?
