The Razer Blade 14 2023 Gaming Laptop Has Ryzen Inside
All It Needs Is A Mobile Intel ARC GPU To Be Truly Unique
After a long break by most laptop makers, AMD is back on the menu for a few select models. One such is this year’s Razer Blade 14, which is powered by an eight core, 16 thread Ryzen 9 7940HS and NVIDIA’s mobile RTX 4070. The built in Radeon 780M isn’t quite up to driving a 240Hz 2560×1600 display, though it does add some interesting features. Instead of driving the display, the iGPU will be used by the new features Microsoft are adding to Windows 11 and Office to take advantage of Ryzen AI acceleration.
As this is a PCIe 4.0 based system the M-2 port runs at CPU-attached M.2 NVMe slot functioning at Gen 4 x4 as is the GPU. DDR5 is supported, in dual channel mode. The Guru of 3D would love to see an X3D part in a laptop soon, but that seems likely to be a ways off. The reveiew can be found here.
