Songs Of Conquest Approaches 1.0
Pretty Pixel Art
If you enjoyed the Heroes of Might and Magic series of games you should take a peek at Songs Of Conquest, currently in early access and officially launching May 20th. The art style is reminiscent of HoMM but even more effectively used and quite striking. The game play will familiar, a hero roaming the map with a limited number of unit types following them, a city building interface to manage your income and growth, with turn based combat on a hex map to vanquish your enemies.
The combat is a little deeper, in that terrain has effects on your troops and there are some troops with firearms, but apart from that you’ll see a familiar interface. It’s comparatively inexpensive and offers both single player campaigns as well as multiplayer maps as well.
The 1.0 release will add a fourth and final campaign to the game, which will feature "the mercenary tinkerers of Barya." The announcement says that 1.0 won't be the end of updates, however, and they're currently finalising plans for more post-release "content, updates, and general improvements".
