ASRock Phantom PG34WQ15R2B QHD Speaks WiFi
ASRock Challenges Acer’s Domination Of Product Names
The 31.5″ 2560 x 1440 Phantom PG34WQ15R2B from ASRock uses a VA panel, as opposed IPS as most gaming monitors feature, which means a slightly slower response rate. The Guru of 3D didn’t notice much in the way of ghosting and did appreciate the 3,000:1 contrast ratio on SDR; the contrast ratio for HDR was not listed in the specs unfortunately. The display supports HDR400 and up to a 165Hz refresh rate thanks to AMD FreeSync Premium. As far as inputs go, you only get two HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4, no USB-C nor does it offer USB ports.
One thing the Phantom PG34WQ15R2B does offer that is rather unique is that it will function as a large WLAN WIFI antenna. If your router or motherboard back panel has connections for antenna, you can use the included cords to connect to the monitor and it will take over as an antenna. In every test Guru3D tried, the monitor out performed the antenna that came included.
If you are shopping for a monitor around 30″ with a high refresh rate and prefer VA to IPS then this is a decent choice. If you are ambivalent to the tech and need better WiFi, this could let you kill two birds with one stone.
The ASRock Phantom Gaming PG32QF2B monitor measures 31.5 inches and offers a display resolution of 2560x1440. With a pixel density standing at 93 ppi, the monitor provides clarity in programs, eliminating the necessity for image scaling. Technical specifications also indicate a brightness level up to 550 cd/m², a contrast ratio of 3000:1, and a swift response time set at 1 ms. Oh and it functions as a big WIFI antenna.
