Generational Clash, The RTX 4070 SUPER Versus The RTX 2070 SUPER

Source: The FPS Review Generational Clash, The RTX 4070 SUPER Versus The RTX 2070 SUPER

Are You Considering An Upgrade?

The RTX 4070 Super is now under $600, about $100 more than you should have had to pay for an RTX 2070 Super so there are likely more than a few people considering an upgrade.  It has been about five years after all!  The FPS Review is here to help out by providing a direct comparison of the two cards in this recent review.

No matter the test, be it 1440p on the highest settings but without ray tracing or 1080p with full ray tracing, the RTX 4070 Super more or less doubles the performance offered by the RTX 2070 Super.  The new Ada Lovelace based card does draw slightly more power, but on the other hand it runs a little cooler.  You will also get better performance with DLSS upscaling with the RTX 4070 Super, so the answer is pretty obvious.  If you have the cash and a strong urge to upgrade, this swap will not disappoint.

In this performance comparison review, we will benchmark the GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER versus GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER to find out the performance improvement you will receive if upgrading directly from a GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER to a GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER in 2024.
